We’re looking for a cute mascot for our convention and we want to turn it to the public to help us come up with a unique and striking design. If you’re interested, see below for full outline and rules.

 

• Must be family friendly!

• Limit of 2 character designs per a person.

  • Note that only 1 of the character designs will win, this is just an opportunity to enter multiple times if you have more than one idea.

• Must be your own original work and design. 

  • No copyright-protected characters allowed.

  • No use of drawing bases or tracing over a base is permitted. 

  • You may use whatever images you’d like as references only.

  • No use of generating an image through AI tools will be permitted.

  • If you are found to have used a drawing base, traced over one, or generated your entry by the use of AI, you will be disqualified.

• Must contain our brand colors: #8ECAE6, #219EBC, #00283E, #FFB703, #FB8501

  • Not every single color needs to be included, but please pick at least 1 of the blues and 1 of the yellow/oranges.

• Graphic guidelines

  • PNG format with a transparent background.

  • Min. of 350dpi.

  • Done on a square canvas is preferred but not required.

  • No animated formats.

  • No watermarks or signatures.

    • You are free to include a version with a signature, however we will need a 100% clean version for the judging

• Submit your artwork to vendorscollectorcon@gmail.com with the following information.

  • Your name

  • Vending name (if you plan to be a vendor)

  • Social media links

• How the winner will be chosen.

  • All submissions will be shown and reviewed by our team to ensure they follow the guidelines.

    • Any that do not, the artist will be contacted and given the chance to make revisions once.

    • Should you choose to not make these revisions or should they not be made, the entry will be disqualified and removed, and you will be given notice of such.

  • All designs will be shown on our social medias at least once and designs placed into a bracket voting line up, starting with 8 pairings.

    • Should the submissions exceed the 16 entries in order to make the initial 8 pairings, Collector Con staff will vote and narrow it down before public voting is to start.

• Submission deadline: December 13th, 2024

• Winner will be announced: January 20th, 2025

• By submitting an entry to the contest, you acknowledge that your design will be shown and advertised on our social medias, and you are giving Collector Con permission to do so. You also are acknowledging the final chosen character design that wins will be used by Collector Con going forward and become the property of Collector Con.

  • While the contest is running, you will have your socials tagged wherever we can each time your artwork is shown. Links must be provided in your submission for this.

  • A permanent credited spot on our website where we plan to showcase the winners of the Mascot Contest in current and past years going forward.

• Runners-up (2nd & 3rd place)

  • While the contest is running, you will have your socials tagged wherever we can each time your artwork is shown. Links must be provided in your submission for this.

  • Additional tagged posts to announce your design as a runner-up once the contest is over.
